The Western Iowa No-Till Field Day was held at Carstens Farm on Tuesday, June 15, 2010.
The Natural Resources Conservation Service ("NCRS"), the Iowa State University Extension ("ISU"), and several local Soil and Water Conservation Districts in Harrison, Pottawattamie and Shelby Counties joined together to give farmers practical hands-on instructions on how to save soil, toil and oil with their crop production services. Attendees heard about crop rotations, disease concerns, erosion control, waterway management, fertility management and moisture conservation.
Bill Northey with the Iowa Secretary of Agriculture was the keynote speaker.
