Carstens Farm was the host for the Western Iowa No-Till Demonstration Field Day on Tuesday, June 14, 2011.
The Iowa State University Extension, the United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Soil and Water Conservation Districts joined together to demonstrate the advantages of no-till farming. Attendees were given demonstrations and information on weed management, the use of equipment for no-till farming, as well as the challenges and benefits of no-till farming.
Eric Nelson, a no-till farmer from Moville, Iowa was the key note speaker.
